Anthem demo open weekend is coming up, here’s how to play

The Anthem demo returns on Friday, February 1st for all budding Javelin pilots. Players on PC, PS4, and Xbox One can join with no pre-registration or pre-order required, and EA is confident things will go much smoother than Anthem’s shaky VIP-only demo phase last weekend.

It’s playable until Sunday, February 3, and EA has revealed that there’s a special ending planned that will give you a glimpse into Anthem’s future. How to prepare your system for an Anthem demo.

For consoles, simply find the Anthem demo on the PlayStation Store (26GB) or Xbox Store (23GB) and download it manually to your system. If you played in the VIP demo last weekend, make sure you’re using the same account to continue progress.

If you’re a PC owner, you’ll need to install EA’s Origin game management app on your system, boot it up, go to Anthem’s store page, and download the demo.

Progress in these early previews does not lead to the final game. Still, the Anthem demo gives you a chance to play a good cross section of your content. The two javelin suits allow you to try different mission types. You will have the opportunity to explore parts of the open world, investigate the RPG hub of Fort Tarsis, and take over one of the fortresses. If you and your friends reach the level required to master Anthem’s very tough dungeons.

Anthem is a major departure from the single-player RPG famous for BioWare, so the public demo is a fantastic opportunity to try the game firsthand ahead of its February 22, 2019 release.
