The first trailer for Apex Legends season 13 introduces the sniper’s next hero, Newcastle. Newcastle happens to be Bangalore’s lost brother Jackson.
The trailer for the movie shows a giant sea monster invading Storm Point mid-game as Newcastle join forces with Bangalore and other Apex Legends heroes. Here, Respawn appears to have set Newcastle primarily as a defender. Because you can see him use his gigantic shield to protect other Legends, and even pull downed fighters out of action to rest behind his protection.
The trailer shows the monster a short snippet Newcastle fires, but most shows him defending himself from attacks with a shield. EA calls Newcastle “the hero of Harris Valley” and says “to survive at the Apex Games, he must protect his teammates and secrets.”
Season 13 of Apex Legends, titled The Savior, will start on May 10th, but a more detailed “Hero Reveal” will take place this Thursday, April 28th. Alongside the new hero Newcastle, the new season introduces a new Battle Pass full of big changes to Storm Point for creatures in today’s trailer, a revamped ranking system, and bountiful prizes. The new season may also have a laundry list with some minor changes, but we’ll have to wait a few more weeks for patch notes to arrive around launch.
