Cheyenne Jackson Calls His Masked Singer Experience ‘Profound’

The Masked Singer finalist Cheyenne continued, “I figured it would be crazy and dramatic and silly and all of those things, but I didn’t realize really kind of how profound it was.” He elaborated by saying when you’re on the show in a costume, all anyone knows is your voice; therefore, “they can’t put any preconceived notions of who you are on anything.” The actor compared the experience to an existential experiment, saying it made him question who people are without their faces, bodies and ideas of what everyone thinks of them. Cheyenne also told a funny story of when his Call Me Kat co-star Leslie Jordan was a guest panelist on the show and came to set encouraging Cheyenne to do The Masked Singer, not knowing he was already on it.

While Prince may not have won the competition, it’s good to hear Cheyenne had such a great time performing on the show. It seems like it gave him a new perspective on life and a chance to show a different side of himself. He was certainly a fan-favorite this season, and fans were happy to see him make it all the way to the finale. Even without the masked trophy, the contestant really proved his talent and capabilities throughout his time on The Masked Singer.
