We like economical crafts and prefer toilet paper rolls (or paper towel rolls if you’re not a toilet paper roll fan).
From crafts to educational games, there are all kinds of fun activities for kids to do. This time around, with Easter fast approaching, we focus on a clever project: Little Chicks.
Ready? Let’s start making!
How to make toilet paper roll chicks
What you need:
- Rolls of toilet paper (you can also use paper towels or store kraft paper rolls. Yes, that’s one thing.)
- yellow paper or yellow paint
- orange paper
- Eyes (Rolling Eyes or Big Eyes stickers)
- Optional: White card stock for eggshell – I recommend Astrobright’s Stardust white paper because it has color spots and looks natural.

Start yellowing the toilet paper roll :). You can do this by painting it yellow or wrapping it in yellow paper.
We are going the paper path here. Cut a piece of paper the same width as the height of the toilet paper roll.
Apply glue to the paper strip.
And stick it around the roll of toilet paper.
If you are making chicks from eggs, cut off the broken eggshell. Make the height slightly less than half the height of the toilet paper roll.
Glue it to a paper roll.
Cut the wings out of yellow paper.
Stick it to the toilet paper roll chick.
Cut the beak out of orange paper and attach it to the chick as well.
Finally, attach it to your eyes.
