Flexa has also announced a discount for people choosing to pay their Chipotle bill through crypto. The company is offering 10 percent off on purchases at any Chipotle outlet when using a Flexa-enabled app. The offer is valid through June 30, but there’s a one transaction limit, and the maximum discount is up to $10. Crypto enthusiasts are already lining up to take advantage of the new payment method. One Chipotle customer in Florida even posted a short video on Twitter about his experience with the new system.

Chipotle is far from the first restaurant chain to accept crypto payments, either in the U.S. or worldwide. That honor goes to Subway, which started accepting Bitcoin as far back as 2013, while Pizza Hut in Venezuela began accepting crypto in 2020. Other fast-food chains, such as Taco Bell, KFC, Chick-fil-A and Carl’s Jr., are also reportedly experimenting with blockchain technology, having filed for brand trademarks for NFTs.
