Christine Quinn Reveals How Producers Manipulate Selling Sunset Scenes

Recently, Christine Quinn appeared on a podcast and revealed that the Selling Sunset producers manipulate storylines on the show. When the Netflix series first premiered, Christine was immediately painted as the mean girl of the Oppenheim Group. In the pilot episode, when Chrishell Stause was introduced as the new real estate agent at the brokerage, Christine asserted her dominance, and though the two got along at first, their relationship fell apart after Christine indulged in a public argument with Chrishell that brought the latter to tears.

This argument occurred because Chrishell had inquired about Mary Fitzgerald’s relationship with her then-boyfriend, Romain Bonnet. Though Christine was defending Mary’s relationship, Mary felt as though Christine was being too hard on Chrishell and even hugged her to comfort her from Christine’s wrath. After this, the Mary-Christine friendship slowly deteriorated and eventually was non-existent. Christine is also the only cast member who has had some form of a feud with most of the other castmates.

Recently, Christine served as a guest on Alexandra Cooper’s podcast, Call Her Daddy, and while talking about the show, she said that being portrayed as a villain was a plan orchestrated by the show’s producers. She spoke about the brokerage as a tight-knit community until the cameras showed up. “We were approached that it was going to be this women empowerment, women in business, working together in real estate, and then it wasn’t that way at all. It all spiraled,” she said. Christine also pointed out the producers’ manipulation of the cast and their need to create drama. She first mentioned that the production team was aware that she was leaving the Oppenheim Group and asked that they focused on her transition to her husband’s company, RealOpen, but instead they concocted the bribery storyline. “I had no idea that was going on until people sent me clips, and I was horrified,” she said.

Christine also mentioned that the producers intentionally turn castmates against each other to further create content for the reality series. Because she understands a producer’s mindset, she claimed she cannot be manipulated, but this is different for the others. The star said, “It is a male-dominated industry in the production field, to which they manipulate women, they harass them, they just mentally torture and intimidate them.” Christine found it laughable that the producers said they want organic scenes when they conspire to push castmates apart before filming. She further pointed out the producers’ manipulation by playing an edited clip between her and Heather Rae Young, which could potentially cause Christine a lawsuit. In the episode that aired, Heather was heard saying, “You said he’s always had good taste in women, but I guess that’s not true,” followed by Christine saying, “Oh my god, that’s hilarious. I did say that.” But in Christine’s clip, Heather could be heard saying, “You said comments about Chrishell sleeping with Jason when she was still married, and you know that’s bull****.” Though this could cause Christine a lawsuit, she said on the podcast that she is not worried.

Christine is set to return for Selling Sunset season 6, but if she ends up embroiled in a lawsuit for all that was said on the podcast, then her role on the show might be uncertain. However, if her role on the show is terminated because of all that she said, her finances should not be an issue as she has been selling her new book, How To Be A Boss B****, and continues to serve as a real estate agent in Los Angeles. Even further, the star has done a great job of making a name for herself and should be able to have access to more entertainment opportunities if the Selling Sunset door closes.
