Season 5 of Cobra Kai is officially coming to Netflix on September 9th. This is ahead of the show’s usual December-January launch period. All episodes of the season are expected to drop at once. There is no season break in the bizarre story style here.

Cobra Kai Season 5 Trailer

The first Cobra Kai season 5 trailer has been released, and you can check it out above.

It has to do with the 51st All Valley Karate Championship. The tournament ended with Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang in contentious situations with controversial victories to Tory and Cobra Kai in the final.

The trailer reveals Terry Silver’s plans to franchise the dojo across the valley. The counterattack is Daniel LaRusso. He returned to silver with the help of former rival Chozen.

But season 5 of Cobra Kai isn’t about karate tricks in Los Angeles. Johnny is heading south with his son Robbie to find Miguel, who has run away to find his father at the end of season 4.

We saw certain characters return in the trailer. Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence will return. That said, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka are back. Courtney Henggeler returns as Amanda LaRusso and Vanessa Rubio returns as Carmen Diaz.

Big Bad Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) will be a big part of season 5, and he’s more likely to see John Kreese (Martin Kove) again (after a brief imprisonment, ie – more). After a while).

Season 4’s final moments also confirmed that the amazing cast members will be part of the next season. Yuji Okumoto returns to Chozen, who first played his role in Karate Kid 2 in Season 3 again.

For the young cast, familiar faces from Solo Maridueña as Miguel Diaz, Mary Mouser as Samantha Laruso, and Tanner Buchanan as Robbie Keane are back. Like Tory on Peyton List.

Jacob Bertrand (Hawk), Gianni DeCenzo (Dmitry Alexopoulos), Peyton List (Tori Nichols), Joe Seo (Kyler Park), Selah Austria (Pfeiffer), Khalil Everage (Chris), Aedin Mincks (Mitch), Hannah Kepple (Moon), Owen Morgan (Bert, Nathaniel O.) Nate has all been confirmed in pre-release material or will return in some form.

Griffin Santo Pietro returns as Anthony Laruso and Dallas Young returns as Kenny Payne.

It remains to be seen whether Paul Walter Hauser will return as the Stingray for his amazing role in Season 4.

Synopsis of Cobra Kai season 5

Season 4 was a major paradigm shift for Cobra Kai, so we can expect Season 5 to cover the aftermath. For starters, a coalition of Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang (or Miyagi-Fang) wasn’t good enough to beat All Valley’s Cobra Kai, who won both the women’s and overall awards of the tournament. After the big win, Terry Silver promised to open a new dojo throughout the valley. This will make the fight against the Cobra Kais even more difficult next season.

And it will probably be a fight. They agreed to stop karate training if either Miyagi-Do or Eagle Fang didn’t win the tournament, but Daniel LaRusso still decided to take down Cobra Kai. This time, I turned to Chozen for help. Considering that Chozen passed on a secret (and very effective) Miyagi-Do technique to Daniel when they last met, you can expect his former adversaries to use more tricks in the new season. The partnership will also present serious challenges for Silver and Cobra Kais.

“Chozen is one of our favorite characters from the franchise,” co-creator Jon Hurwitz told GamesRadar+ of the character’s return. “As maintenance [Okumoto] Season 3 returned the scene with Ralph. [Macchio] In terms of karate and comedy, these were some of our favorites this season. We love this dynamism and precisely what it brings. Besides, he has a devil and he has work to solve in life itself. So he’s a character with a lot of work to do and is a fully realized character, and what could be better to come to America and join the fight in the Valley than Terry Silver holding the baton? As we all know Terry Silver is a very strong opponent… if Cobra Kai had a history of fighting to the death with Terry Silver beside him and he was fearless and called on Chozen who looked more skillful and greater, Karate – Threaten with Daniel, this At the point, having Chozen and Silver as enemies seemed like a good thing for season 5.

As for John Kreese, he’s out of the picture for now. Towards the end of the season, Silver led the arrest of an old friend, accusing Creeze of the brutal treatment inflicted upon Stingray himself. With Kreese looking like he’s in jail, no one can imagine how the season will end for him. But don’t count him yet, as he has proven very difficult to beat before. Attention is focused on how to deal with the situation in which Silver and Silver betray him and threaten former award-winning student Johnny Lawrence.

Meanwhile, Johnny follows Miguel. This will lead the two characters to Mexico, where Miguel travels in search of his father. However, one of the potential problems with plans to reconcile with Miguel is that Johnny appears to be building a bridge with his son Robby Keene. Is Robbie ready to travel south of the border with Johnny? All three characters can finally take one more step towards washing away all the bad blood between them.

Students at Miyagi-Do, Eagle Fang, and Cobra Kai have an uncertain future. Because Daniel has no intention of closing the dojo, the Miyagi-Do kids will still hone their karate skills. Cobra Kai is also expanding, but it looks like it will lose some students in season 5. Robbie doesn’t seem to want her to go out, and she can get out of the dojo too after All Valley champion Tory Nichols hears a conversation that the tournament has been rigged in Cobra Kai’s favor. Especially when she and Amanda LaRusso started she joined during the season.

Eagle Fang will continue to train at Miyagi-Do given that Johnny will be busy in Mexico for at least part of the season. Anyone can guess whether one of the kids will keep the deal with Cobra Kai and give up learning karate entirely.

What is certain is that season 5 is packed with action. “I just finished filming season 5. And we don’t want to say the finale is bigger, but we’ve got to a point where a lot of things are happening in the season 5 finale,” co-creator Hayden Schlossberg told GamesRadar+.

“And it did. And we hope to see us knock on the tree in the next season and continue after season 5 because we didn’t write it as an ending.” He went on to say. “We still have one in stock. We have the biggest fireworks display and the biggest gun left. So we know we have big and epic ones. But, “Okay, how do you get number one every season?” coming out of the character’s role. One fan will go and what we don’t want [where] It just becomes a spectacle rather than a material. And that is the most important goal.”

If you’re looking for a cameo in the wider Karate Kid world, you’ll find it. “There is a lot of madness. If you’re a fan of the franchise, a familiar face may or may not appear. There will be a lot of karate,” Hurwitz told Deadline.

Is Cobrakai season 5 the last season?

There’s no confirmed season 6 yet, but series creators Josh Heald, Hayden Schlossberg and Jon Hurwitz have made it clear they have more planned.

Heald told Collider, “Sometimes it changed, but it didn’t change either.” “We still have final plans. I’m still using it after season 5. But it was fun to introduce these new characters and storylines and to lead them from time to time.”

Hurwitz: “We didn’t say how many seasons it was going to be in the beginning. We always think we’ve thought at least six times, but for all the reasons Josh mentioned, we’re still figuring out exactly how long that landing will be.”

In an interview with Deadline, Schlossberg hinted that the series could go beyond a possible six-part series. “We have a goal in mind,” he said. “We don’t know how many seasons it will take to get there. It’s so much fun to do,” he added. “If it’s too hard, I quit before then. We are already planning a few more seasons.”

It remains to be seen if Cobra Kai will continue beyond season 5, but the future is bright as season 4 establishes itself as one of the most popular Netflix series.

Cobra Kai season 5 plot

Season 4 was a major paradigm shift for Cobra Kai, so we can expect season 5 to deal with the fallout. For one thing, the combined forces of Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang (or Miyagi-Fang) weren’t enough to beat Cobra Kai at the All Valley, who won both the girls’ side of the tournament and the overall prize. In the wake of the big win, Terry Silver has pledged to open new dojos all across the Valley – which will make fighting back against the Cobra Kais that much harder next season.
And it will most likely be a fight. Despite the deal to quit teaching karate should Miyagi-Do or Eagle Fang fail to win the tournament, Daniel LaRusso is still intent on bringing down Cobra Kai. This time, he’s enlisted Chozen for help. Considering the last time they met, Chozen passed on a secret (and very effective) Miyagi-Do technique to Daniel, we can expect the former antagonist to have more tricks up his sleeve in the new season. It’s also likely the partnership will be a serious challenge for Silver and the Cobra Kais.
“Chozen is one of our favorite characters in the franchise,” co-creator Jon Hurwitz told GamesRadar+ of the character’s return. “When Yuji [Okumoto] returned in season 3, the scenes that he had with Ralph [Macchio] were some of our favorites in that season, both from a karate standpoint, but also a comedy standpoint. We love that dynamic and just what he brings. And beyond that he’s got demons, he has things that he’s working through himself in life. So he’s a fully realized character that has work to be done, and what better time for him to come to the United States and join the fight in the Valley than when Terry Silver is on top? Because, as we all know, Terry Silver is a very formidable opponent… If Cobra Kai is going to have Terry Silver on that side, to bring in Chozen who has a history of fighting to the death and fearlessness, and seemingly is more skilled and is more of a karate threat than Daniel, even, at this point, it felt like it was great for season 5 to have Chozen and Silver as opposing forces.”
As for John Kreese, he’s out of the picture – for now. At the end of the season, Silver orchestrated his old buddy’s arrest by framing Kreese for the brutal beatdown Silver himself delivered to Stingray. With Kreese apparently prison-bound, it’s anyone’s guess how the season will turn out for him. He has proven very hard to beat before, though, so don’t count him out just yet. How he handles being betrayed by Silver, and Silver threatening his onetime prize pupil Johnny Lawrence, remains to be seen.
Johnny, meanwhile, is on the trail of Miguel. That will most likely take both characters to Mexico, where Miguel has travelled in search of his father. A potential hiccup in the plan to make amends with Miguel, though, is that Johnny seems to be building bridges with his son Robby Keene. Robby is all set to accompany Johnny on his trip south of the border? It could take all three characters one step closer to finally washing away all the bad blood between them.
In terms of the students of Miyagi-Do, Eagle Fang, and Cobra Kai, their future is less clear. Daniel has no intention of shutting his dojo, so it seems safe to say the Miyagi-Do kids will still be honing their karate skills. Cobra Kai are also expanding, though it looks like they might be losing some students in season 5. Robby seems to want out, and after All Valley champ Tory Nichols overheard a conversation that proved the tournament was rigged in Cobra Kai’s favor, she might be heading in the direction of defecting from the dojo, too – especially as her and Amanda LaRusso began to bond across the season.
It’s likely Eagle Fang will continue training at Miyagi-Do, considering Johnny will be busy in Mexico for at least part of the season. Whether any of the kids decide to honor the deal with Cobra Kai and quit learning karate entirely is up in the air, though.
One thing that’s for sure is that season 5 will be action-packed. “We’ve just shot season 5. And we ended up in a situation where the finale is, I don’t want to say bigger, but there’s a lot of action going on in our season five finale,” co-creator Hayden Schlossberg told GamesRadar+.
“And so, it’s become that way. And we do see in subsequent seasons, we’re knocking on wood hoping that we can continue past season five, because we didn’t write that as an end,” he continues. “We have another in store. We really do still have some of our biggest fireworks and biggest cannons left. So we know that we have some big, epic things up our sleeve. But it does become like, ‘Okay, how do you top that each season?’ As long as it comes from the place of character, fans will get into it and what we don’t want to do is [where] it just becomes more spectacle than substance. And so that’s the overriding goal.”
If you’re on the lookout for cameos from the wider Karate Kid universe, there might be some to spot after all. “There’s a lot of insanity; if you’re a fan of the franchise, maybe some familiar faces show up, maybe not; there’s going to be a lot of karate,” Hurwitz told Deadline.
Is Cobra Kai season 5 the final season?

There’s no confirmed season 6 just yet, but series creators Josh Heald, Hayden Schlossberg, and Jon Hurwitz have made it clear that they’re planning on more to come.
“It’s changed at times, but it also hasn’t,” Heald told Collider. “We still have an endgame plan. We’re still writing beyond season 5. But it’s been fun to bring in those new characters and storylines and let them lead the way sometimes.”
Said Hurwitz: “We’ve never said from the beginning how many seasons there would be. I think we always viewed it as at least six was sort of in our heads, but we’re still figuring out exactly what the length for that landing is for all the reasons that Josh mentioned.”
Speaking to Deadline, Schlossberg indicated the series could even go beyond a potential sixth installment. “We have an end in mind,” he said. “How many seasons it takes to get there, we don’t know. We’re enjoying making it so much.” He added: “If it gets tiring to us, we’ll stop before that; we have a few more seasons already planned out.”
Whether Cobra Kai continues past season 5 remains to be seen, but with season 4 shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most popular series ever, the future looks bright.
