I made the antenna a little more detailed, depending on the age of the child, it can be made simply.

For adorable antennae like ours, cut a thin strip of black cardstock and punch a hole in a small circle.

make an antenna

Glue the strips to the back of the craft stick, then glue the punched circles to each paper strip.

Glue to the butterfly antenna

Print an eye template (or use a googly eye or googly eye sticker) and stick it on a craft stick.

put eyes on

Draw a cute smile with a black marker. Set your chopsticks aside.

happy butterfly face

Print and cut out circle and rectangle templates. Place it on top of colored paper and trace around the template.

Cut out colored circles and rectangles.

prepare documents

Start origami – start on one side and fold (accordion fold – replace valley fold and mountain fold). You will need both molds to make a paper butterfly.

fold

Glue the top and bottom together. Hold it in place to allow the glue to set (I like to use clothespins to hold things in place).

stick together

When the glue dries, spread the wings.

Glue a craft stick (using a glue gun or glue dot) to the center of the wing.
