Released with Destiny 2’s The Witch Queen expansion, the Vow of the Disciple raid pits Guardians against Rhulk, a Disciple of the Witness. In each raid encounter, players can complete Challenges to earn extra raid loot. There is only one Challenge active at once, which encounter has the active Challenge will rotate each week.
In this Destiny 2 guide, we’ll go over when each of the Vow of the Disciple challenges are happening, why you should do them, and how you can do them.
Why do the challenge?
Doing the challenge on Legend mode gives you an extra drop and five Spoils of Conquest. On Master, that extra drop is an Adept weapon — a different colored version of the normal weapon that allows for special mods.
Unlike the Master mode for Vault of Glass, the Adept weapons are not tied to specific encounters, and are random drops instead. These work on a knock-out system, so the first six times you complete the challenge, you’ll get each of the six different weapons.
After you collect all six weapons, the future Adept drops will be completely random.
In addition to the rewards, you’ll need to complete each Challenge (on Master) to unlock the Disciple-Killer raid title.
