We really don’t like wasting food, but none of that has an open pasta bag behind the cupboard that sometimes everyone seems to forget, despite our best efforts. How about using pasta creatively instead of throwing it away?
We found a beautiful way to use these spirals to create lions, suns, sunflowers and snakes.
These are great summer crafts, especially as summer camp projects.
So if you have an old macaroni spiral somewhere in the kitchen.
Let’s grab a handful and start crafting.

Lion Craft Pasta
For the lion, we used 16 spirals.
We painted 8 of them orange and the rest caramel.
Draw the lion’s face on the cardboard with a black pencil, color it with colored pencils and glue the googly eyes.
Apply glue to each spiral and glue it around the lion’s head.
Draw the lion’s body and color it with colored pencils.
The lion is complete.
Pasta Snake Craft
For the snake, I first drew 6 macaroni spirals with blue acrylic paint.
Draw the snake’s head, color it with a blue colored pencil, and put Google eyes on it.
Apply glue to the spirals and arrange them however you like.
It would be a snake’s tail.
Snake is ready.
Sunflower Pasta Crafts
For the sunflower, I drew 16 spirals with yellow acrylic paint.
Draw a sunflower shape, color it with colored pencils as shown in the picture, and attach Google eyes.
Glue the spirals and arrange them around the sunflower heads.
Actually!
Zen Pasta Crafts
For the sun we used 8 spirals painted with yellow acrylic paint.
Draw a circle, color it with yellow crayons, and add squiggly eyes.
Apply glue to each spiral and place it around the head of the circle.
Perfect!
