Elden Ring Godskin Noble boss fight guide

Ring of Elden‘s Godskin Noble is the first boss you will face while exploring the Volcano Manor and Prison Town locations. In this Godskin Noble guide, we’ll show you how to defend yourself, mount a safe attack (rather), and exploit Godskin Noble’s weakness.
Prepare for battle
the Crimson Amber Medallion +1 behind the Stonesword Key fog door in Prison Town is worth equipping, though you’ll need to avoid being swallowed by a few Iron Maidens to claim it.

Additionally, this boss is susceptible to both Freeze and Bleed effects. The best thing you can do is load up your guns with both and go full throttle to stack those damaging statuses as quickly as possible. One of the best ways to do this is to equip one in each hand and press L1/LB to attack with both. for Int/Dex builds, moon veilacquired at Caelid’s Gael Tunneland the Uchigatanafound in the Catacombs touched by death in Limgrave, make an unstoppable combo, especially if you give the Uchi the cold affinity using the Glistening Stone Sharpener found in Raya Lucaria.

Godskin Noble’s combos are extremely annoying, with an unpredictable mix of slow and fast attacks, all of which have the potential to cause massive damage. It can be extremely difficult to discern when the Godskin Noble’s combos are actually complete. There are extremely few times when it’s really safe to fire his own shot.
When to heal: When you have to drink from a flask, do whatever you must to put a pillar between you and the boss. Otherwise, there’s always a chance he’ll catch you with a long-range thrust attack.
If you’re playing a Wizard, one thing you can do to give yourself a slight edge is to roll Magic Land at the fog gate, then cast offensive magic right after crossing the threshold of combat. This will allow you to take damage safely, even if it’s only a small head start and ultimately useless.

The key to this fight is learning exactly which attacks leave you with enough opening to retaliate. To do this, you will need to familiarize yourself with all of Godskin Noble’s moves.
Phase 1 Strategies
His standard attacks usually include variable combinations of pushes and swipes. He can combine them in unpredictable ways, and it’s usually not safe to attack just because you think a combo is done.

Attack Opportunity: You can be sure that the Godskin Noble’s current combo has ended when he dodges after an attack. This brief movement leaves it open.

One of the Godskin Noble’s trickiest attacks is a powerful delayed thrust. The Godskin Noble raises his sword back and waits for an extended period, before slamming forward with a stab that can cover a shocking amount of ground while easily halving your health. The best way to avoid it is to literally count two beats out loud when you see him raise his arm: “One, two, dodge.” Dodging early and getting caught by it is a common source of death.
The Noble also uses a few Black Flame Attacks during its first phase. Black Flame does brief damage over time when it attaches to you, but both attacks are easy to dodge. When he drags his left hand by his side for a moment, roll away, as he will surround himself with flames.

Attack Opportunity: On the other hand, when he raises his hand of flame above his shoulder, he’s about to launch a fireball in your direction. Dodge towards him and launch an attack or two.
He will also occasionally belly bump you when you’re near him, though it’s not too damaging and usually worth the risk when trying to cause damage or stack status effects.

Attack Opportunity: Finally, the Godskin Noble sometimes lifts his right leg in the air, knocking it down for a slam that deals area damage. Dodge back to avoid it, and watch for the follow-up which usually, but not always, happens. If he raises his leg again, dodge toward him, and launch your own attacks. He sometimes gets stuck in a pattern doing this multiple times in a row, which is your golden ticket to dealing damage to him.
Phase 2 Strategies
At around 50% health, Godskin Noble rises into the air and enters Stage 2.

Attack Opportunity: Move away from him while he does this to avoid Black Flame damage, then move closer after he lands to retaliate.

During this phase, he adds a few attacks to his repertoire. Two of them simply must be avoided at all costs. The first one you’ll probably notice is a little thing we like to call the little bread. It’s telegraphed when he stands in place and fidgets, then leaps into the air and turns on his side. He then has Sonic-the-Hedgehogs in the room, dealing damage every time he hits you. It can take a very long time. Luckily, it’s easy as pie to avoid once you know how: just roll in him when he gets close.
The second new and even more dangerous attack is a burst of thrusts who can easily shoot you if they catch you off guard. You can tell he’s about to trigger this when the boss briefly raises his sword vertically in front of his face, as if in a fighting stance. The problem is that this readying move lasts a split second before he starts stabbing you wildly, so all you can do is be very careful when choosing to try and attack him in this phase. .

Attack Opportunity: The third new attack in Phase 2 gives you a big opening to attack. When the Godskin Noble rises high into the air, it is about to crash into the ground, causing damage in a small area around it. Once you get the timing, you can roll towards it and easily get multiple hits. He’ll usually bounce you off him afterwards, but it’ll do little damage compared to what you can deal.
With Godskin Noble defeated, you will win 50,000 runes, more the Godskin Embroiderer weapon and the Noble Presence incantation. Rest at Temple of Eiglay site of grace and breathe a little.
