Elden Ring guide: Academy Crystal Cave

The Crystal Cave Academy is an explorable section in Ring of Elden‘s Liurnia of the Lake District, where you can find magic and a mighty staff. The Crystal Cave Academy is located just west of the Raya Lucaria Academy, which is the main attraction in the area. This building rests on top of hard-to-miss cliffs, while the cave leads to the base of these cliffs.

To access the cave, follow the shallow waterways that run along the west side of the academy. The entrance to the cave is a few steps to the south due east of the site of grace of the Pied des Quatre Beffrois. Several beetle enemies patrol ahead. You’ll most likely notice the opening when you see an imp statue that you need to bribe with a Stonesword Key. If you don’t have this item, you can probably purchase one from a Roundtable Hold merchant.
Academy Crystal Cave Loot
Inside the Crystal Cave Academy, after defeating the dangerous Crystalians lurking in its lower parts, you will get the crystal release sorcery and also gain access to a tower with a treasure chest that contains the Magic Land spell. Elsewhere in the dungeon you will find the crystal staff armed. Finally, be on the lookout for the many harvesting locations for the crystal cave moss and budding cave mosswhich are useful crafting materials.
Magical enemies await you
Crystal Cave Academy is dark. Bring and equip yourself with a torch to simplify navigation. Also carry any talismans that help protect against powerful magic, as many of your enemies attack with powerful spells that tear through armor more suited to melee combat.
As you fight the resident wizards, use the environment to your advantage. Avoid spells by hiding behind huge crystal formations, then pop out to launch your own attack while trying to deal with one enemy at a time. Most of them also fall easily to a flurry of melee attacks, if that’s what.

Most of the way through the cave you will pass through a wooden door after dealing with a large group of wizards. A powerful wizard stands near a stone archway, while another walks the path past a wall of mist that leads to the boss area.
Defeat these enemies and cross the arch to reach a dead end where another wizard attacks you from a rocky ledge in the upper left. Eliminate the threat and open the nearby chest for a runic bow. Then go back under the stone arch.

Check the wall to your right, which was on your left when you approached the guards. Near the moss, hit the wall to reveal the illusion. Follow the new path along a ledge to reach a chest that contains the crystal staff.
Crystal Cave Academy Boss: Crystalian
When fighting Crystalians who serve as area bosses, they ignore all initial attacks until you chip their crystal armor.

The one with the staff fires deadly projectile magic, so deal with that first while a summoned ally keeps the one with the spear occupied. Attacks that inflict Bleeding (aka Hemorrhage) speed up the process. Be ready to roll and heal as needed, but you need to deactivate the magic wielder quickly.

Once you’ve defeated the Crystalians, claim the crystal release sorcery and check the door behind which you fought the bosses. An elevator takes you to a tower in the academy itself, where you can climb a ladder and loot a chest on a high ledge to acquire the mighty Magic Land spell.
