As for the hardware specifications, the Galaxy XCover6 Pro will feature a 6.6-inch TFT display with FHD+ (2408 x 1080) resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. It will also be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G SoC, which was the company’s top mid-range chipset last year but has since been succeeded by the all-new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. Hemmerstoffer further claims that the device will ship with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but it isn’t immediately clear if that will be the only available configuration. On the software side of things, the XCover6 Pro will run Android 12 out of the box.
Imaging options will include a 50-megapixel primary camera paired with an 8-megapixel or 12-megapixel wide-angle secondary camera. On the front, the device will have a 13-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats. The rest of the tech specs include a 4,050 mAh battery, which is somewhat acceptable for regular handsets, but a rugged device meant to be used in harsh conditions probably could have done with a larger battery for more extensive screen-on time. As expected, the Samsung device will also come with IP68 certification, which denotes resistance to water and dust.
