Four Different Versions of Batman Collide in DC’s Future
At last count, there are now four version of Batman running around Gotham City: Bruce, Jace, Dick, and Damian. Clearly, that’s too many Dark Knights in one city, each with their own conflicting methodologies and personalities. Case in point, there’s really only one way Damian will likely react when he learns that his father has been alive this entire time and knowingly kept his Bat-Family in the dark (and it won’t be positive). Sadly, Damian’s years spent in Hell were for nothing, a concept that will probably turn the former Robin against his father.
At any rate, it does seem as though a major clash of Batmen is on the horizon. Whether its Damian turning against his family members, Dick becoming corrupted by Brane, Jace seeking to defend the mantle he’s earned, Bruce returning to the spotlight as the original Batman, or all of the above, the coming issues of Future State: Gotham will be a wild ride that fans won’t want to miss. Here’s hoping that these four versions of Batman can figure out how to coexist in the aftermath.
