Gotham Knights release date, combat, and everything else we know
Gotham Knights is the next big game from WB Games Montreal, the studio behind Batman: Arkham Origins. Batman isn’t a part of this Batman-inspired game, however, but players will get a chance to play as one of four major DC heroes: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood. The eponymous Gotham Knights have been summoned to take care of two nefarious groups: the Court of Owls and the Talons.
Since its announcement, we’ve seen some Gotham Knights gameplay, and we also have a release date: October 25, 2022. Read on for more on all of that and for everything else we know about Gotham Knights, our next non-Batman-flavoured visit to Gotham City.

Gotham Knights release date
The announcement, made via Twitter, was surprisingly low-key for such a big studio, a big franchise and, of course, big game, but at least we have a solid date to work to for the next non-Batman adventure.
There are at four playable Gotham Knights characters
Speaking of, recently released Gotham Knights gameplay showed off how Nightwing and Red Hood will play – and how two-player co-op.

Here’s the official synopsis for Gotham Knights: “Batman is dead. It is now up to the Batman Family – Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin – to protect Gotham City, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops, and fear to its criminals … You must evolve into the new Dark Knight and save Gotham from chaos. Your legacy begins now. Step into the Knight.”
The Batcave is gone, and in its place is the Belfry
In the comics, the Belfy even has a room similar to the X-Men’s Danger Room or Star Trek’s Holo Deck, called the ‘Mud Room,’ where Clayface can make traps and the like for the team to train against. We didn’t see anything like that in the trailer, so we’re only speculating, but it should be interesting to see how Warner Bros. implements the new base.
The Gotham Knights story is completely original
The Court of Owls is a big focus
Mr. Freeze is one of the Gotham Knights villains
Gotham Knights has drop-in, drop-out two-person co-op
Gotham Knights combat is catered for co-op gameplay
You can play Gotham Knights offline and entirely solo
Gotham Knights characters each have distinct skill trees
“So they might have access to some of the same tools, like the grapple and the Batcycle. But they also have ways of kind of approaching and entering into the fray that is really distinctive and specific to each of them,” he added.
