Horizon Forbidden West’s new update makes stealth a lot harder

The latest update to Horizon Forbidden West makes it much more difficult to secretly shut down systems.

Yesterday Guerrilla Games released patch 1.12 of Horizon Forbidden West. Among the various fixes and improvements in the update are changes in machine behavior that many fans don’t like, especially if you enjoy a quieter approach to shutting down the game’s mechanical monsters.

As Reddit user Hot_Potato_001 discovered, the patch notes state, “A more powerful medium-to-large machine will be put into battle when 35% of its health is lost at once.” This is undoubtedly bad news for stealth fans. Because if you punch too powerful a punch at the game’s more intimidating enemies, the stealth will now fly right through.

It’s worth noting that more than 35% of your enemies’ health must be lost at one time, so more powerful enemies can calm you down without you noticing. But if you’re quiet and a little too lethal, oddly enough you get punished. Players have shared their dissatisfaction with the overhaul of the Horizon subreddit. User Something About Me said, “I want them to allow us to steal in peace,” and Clear_Butterscotch78 also laments the new restrictions on stealth, “This makes me sad.”

Stealth isn’t the only thing that’s changed since patch 1.12. Guerrilla implemented a fix to prevent Aloy from getting stuck in the bathroom near the upstairs space on the base. The update also prevents her from jumping heavily when looting her items. In other words, Aloy no longer has a “celebration loot frenzy”.

Aloy’s latest adventure has plenty to do and quests, big or small, are worth completing. find a way Horizon Forbidden West completes the open world by making all the side quests important..

As spotted by Reddit user Hot_Potato_001, the patch notes state that “the sturdier mid and large machines will escalate to combat when 35% of their health is lost in one shot.” This is undoubtedly bad news for stealth fans, as landing too powerful a strike on the game’s more menacing adversaries will now see your cover instantly blown.
