How to beat the Elden Ring Godskin Duo boss fight
The Elden Ring Godskin duo boss fight in the collapsing Farrum Azula is difficult. Because the two returning enemy types now team up like the nightmare versions of Laurel and Hardy. Overwhelming and unbalancing players using a combination of magic and sudden punches is one of the more challenging Elden Ring experiences, especially given that these two horrors have to be fought at the same time. Luckily we put them down and can explain how to win an Elden Ring Godskin Duo boss fight, whether you’re fighting a giant Godskin Noble or an Angular Godskin Apostle, or just want a few tips and tricks.

Godskin Duo Preparation Tips
Godskin Duo share some common weaknesses and strengths. In other words, strategic advice applied to one person may apply to another. Here are some basic thoughts to keep in mind during boss fights and combat.
- The recommended level for Godskin Duo is 100 or higher., with a weapon of +18 or higher. That is, assuming you are not exactly on the critical path, it should be slightly higher at this point.
- It’s a bit of a hike from the former Site of Grace to the stadium. Your best bet is to dodge enemies along the way, sprint and roll past them, then go down the stairs to the left, then down the thin stairs. Exit the broken road with the stadium entrance on the right. Encounter 2-3 knights along the way, but leave them in the dust.
- Alternatively, if you approach southeast from Dragon Temple Transcept, the site of the secondary mercy, there is a chance to summon an ally NPC Recusant Bernahl.
- Godskin Duo is slightly vulnerable to Slash Damage and normal status effects like Bleeding and Frostbite, but has very little physical weakness due to its high resilience to Strike, Fire, Lightning and Magic.
- The sleep effect helps make this fight a lot easier. Calm down one of the godskins with a sleeping pot, sleeping potion, or St. Trina’s arrow, then leave them alone while fighting the other.
- Both can block and stumble, but it’s not easy. Only try parrying if you feel brave or risk being attacked by a rider.
- The poles surrounding the playing field can be used for cover and protection. Use it in all cases.
- In general, Godskin Nobles (Great Ones) are a bigger threat and can do more damage, so you need to kill them first. However, this is not required and the Apostle does less damage, but is faster and can attack from a great distance without warning.
- Each has the ability to rise into the air surrounded by black fire and then immediately retreat back to create a shock wave. If you see it, roll! The shockwave has a short range, but deals damage, knocks players back and leaves them vulnerable to follow-up.
- When the collective health bar is depleted, all remaining godskins die, regardless of personal health.
Alternatively, below is an explanation of how to deal with the two god skins individually. All of the above applies to both, but each has its own nuances and is listed below.
Battle the Godskin Duo in the Elden Ring
I’ve described the Godskin Duo as a separate entity below, so I’ve made it clear if you’re actually fighting one or need to know what makes them tick!
How to defeat Godskin Noble
The Godskin Noble is the more dangerous of the two in our opinion, a huge tank foe that can withstand most attacks and blow players away. Here are some things to keep in mind:
- Noble’s most dangerous attacks make the player inflate and spin to a gigantic size while trying to crush them. He can’t make sharp turns, so use this against him. Try rolling sideways at the last minute or sprinting around him while his attack animation begins. You’ll probably have to dodge him at least a couple of times since he’s been rolling around for a while.
- Most of Godskin Noble’s more mundane-looking attacks have some sort of surprise effect. Attacking with a rapier will give you a blow or a second jab without warning.
- In general, you want to stay behind the nobility if possible. Most of his attacks are forward, and he can use a boat push move that pops up and staggers the player significantly.
- Noble’s lack of maneuverability means he can use his columns well against him. Ranged players will find it much more manageable as he is primarily a melee fighter and will have a hard time closing the gap if the player decides to step away from him.
How to Defeat Godskin Apostle
Sleek and resilient, the Godskin Apostle is another beast capable of churning the battlefield and fighting more than his friends at mid-range. However, as an foe, he is slightly less powerful and cannot be thrown as far as the Nobility.
- Apostle has twin blades that allow for quick stretches and quick attacks. You should consider him far beyond the basic limits of “melee range”.
- It’s a bit more practical to use a shield against a Godskin Apostle that doesn’t stagger you with quick attacks like Noble can. Grab the first of his combos from the shield and then roll out using a short interval before the next hit.
- When the apostle starts twisting his gun, back off! This swirling attack can destroy your health.
- Apostle is easier to get rid of animations than Noble. Play more aggressively when you feel you can incorporate the necessary dodge.
Godskin Duo Boss Battle Reward
Killing the Godskin Duo will reward you with 170,000 runes (less than the Fire Giants, shame on you). But what’s more interesting is that you get the Black Flame Tornado Ash of War and the excellent Forged -Stone. Miner’s Bell Bearing [4], the best standard curb bell bearings are available! Even if this isn’t a mandatory boss fight, you’ll want to kill these guys for the reward anyway.

The Godskin Duo have some shared weaknesses and strengths, meaning that strategic advice applied to one can apply to the other too. Here’s some basic thoughts to keep in mind both before and during the boss fight.
The recommended level for the Godskin Duo is at least 100, with weapons of +18 or higher. That being said, you should probably end up being a little higher than this at this point, assuming you’ve not just been on the critical path.
There’s a little bit of a trek from the previous Site of Grace to the arena – the best thing you can do is evade the enemies along the way, sprinting and rolling past them, heading left down the steps and then dropping down to the thin ledge off the broken path with the arena entrance ahead on the right. You’ll encounter two or three knights along the way, but leave them in your dust.
Alternatively, if you approach from the secondary Site of Grace to the Southeast, the Dragon Temple Transept, there’ll be an option to summon the friendly NPC Recusant Bernahl.
The Godskin Duo are a little vulnerable to Slashing damage and general status effects like Bleed and Frostbite, but highly resistant to Striking, as well as Fire, Lightning and Magic, leaving little in the way of physical weaknesses.
The Sleep effect can help make this fight a lot easier – sedate one of the Godskins with a Sleep Pot, Soporific Grease or a St. Trina’s Arrow, then leave them be while you battle the other one.
Both can be parried and staggered, but not easily. Only try to parry if you’re feeling brave, or risk taking the attack on the nose.
The pillars around the arena can be used for cover and protection – make use of them at all opportunities.
Generally you want to kill the Godskin Noble (the big one) first, as he’s more of a threat and can do more damage. It’s not essential though, and while the Apostle (the skinny one) is less damaging, he’s also faster, lashing out from a good distance with little warning.
Each of them has a move where they levitate into the air surrounded by black fire, and will immediately drop back down to create a shockwave. Roll away when you see it happen! The shockwave is short-range but damaging, and will throw players back to the ground and leave them vulnerable for follow-up.
Once the collective health bar is emptied, any remaining Godskins die, regardless of their individual health.

Fighting the Godskin Duo in Elden Ring
Below we’ve got the Godskin Duo explained as separate entities, so if you’re really struggling with one or just need to know what makes them tick, we’ve got that laid out clearly!
How to beat the Godskin Noble

The Godskin Noble is the more dangerous of the two by our reckoning, a huge tank enemy who can withstand most attacks and send players flying with his bulk. Here’s some things to keep in mind.

You’ll probably have to dodge him at least twice, as he rolls around for a while.
Most of the Godskin Noble’s more normal-looking attacks have some kind of surprise follow-up. If he lunges with his rapier, he’s likely going to perform a strike or secondary stab without warning.
As a rule, you want to try to stay behind the Noble when possible. Most of his attacks are directed forwards, and he can use a belly-shove move that comes out of nowhere and staggers players badly.
The Noble’s lack of manoeuvrability means you can use the pillars against him nicely – ranged players should find him a lot more manageable, as he’s mainly a melee fighter who struggles to close the gap if the player’s determined to keep backing away from him.
How to beat the Godskin Apostle
The lanky, elastic Godskin Apostle is a different beast, capable of whiplashing about the battlefield and fighting more in the medium-range than his friend. However, he’s a bit less robust as an enemy, and can’t quite throw you about as much as the Noble can.
The Apostle is capable of stretching rapidly and using rapid strikes with his twinblades. You should consider him in “melee range” even well beyond the standard limits.
It’s a bit more viable to use a shield against the Godskin Apostle, whose fast-hitting attacks won’t stagger you the way the Noble can do. Catch the first of his combos on your shield, then use the brief gap before the next strike to roll away.
If the Apostle starts spinning his weapon, back away! These twirling attacks can devastate health if the player is caught in them.
The Apostle can be knocked out of his animation easier than the Noble – feel free to play more aggressively if you think you can mix in the necessary evasion.
