How to Change Your Default Google Account

Google makes it easy to switch between multiple Google accounts. One of these accounts will be assigned as your default Google Account and is usually the first account you log in to, according to Google.
This is how your standard account works
When you use Google services such as Google Search, Gmail, YouTube, Drive, Photos, and more, Google automatically uses your default Google Account. If your default Google Account is not the one you want, you will need to switch to the appropriate account each time you access these services through a web browser.
You can change your default Google Account if:
- If you want to automatically sign in to your Google Account on your PC or device
- You want to automatically sign in to your work-related Google Account on a work-related computer or device.
- You are currently spending more time and effort than usual using Google services from other Google Accounts.

Reset Default Google Account
The only way to change your primary Google Account is to log out of all Google Accounts before signing in to any additional Google Accounts and then log back in to the primary Google Account you want to set as default. Sign up for an account. Follow these steps to make sure your default Google Account has been changed to the correct one.
Go to myaccount.google.com in your web browser and select your account. profile Picture or icon.
Choose log out of all accounts.
You may see a message stating that synchronization has stopped. When prompted, select Next. Continue.

Choose the Google account you want to use as your primary account, enter your password and select it. next. Since you first signed in to that account again, it will automatically become your default Google Account.
To sign in to a different Google Account again, select your profile picture or icon, then select your account and log in as usual. Repeat this process for all other Google Accounts.
To verify that the first account is the default account, select the profile icon of the other logged in account. You will see “Default” next to the first account you log in again.
If you’re using your default Google Account, you won’t see the “Default” label after clicking on your profile. The default label only appears in the drop-down list if you are actively using a different Google Account.
Important note about setting up your Google Account
According to Google, each Google Account has its own settings, but if you’re signed in to multiple Google Accounts, Google sometimes doesn’t know exactly which account you’re using. In this case, some settings may be inherited from the wrong Google Account.
For example, if you are signed in to two Google accounts and open a new web browser window, Google may not be able to tell you which account you want to use in that new window. Settings for this new window are usually taken from your default Google account.
Change your default Google Account whenever you want. The default Google Account is device specific. If you use multiple computers or devices, you will need to reset the primary Google Account on each device.
How about setting up a default Google account in the Google mobile app?
If you use official Google apps like Gmail or YouTube, you can log in to multiple accounts and switch between them just like you would in a web browser. Select your profile and then select the desired Google Account.
But unlike when using Google services over the web, there doesn’t seem to be a standard label next to a specific Google account. The app remembers the last Google Account the user used and keeps the user until manually switched to another account.
