I’ve always loved to draw and I was incredibly proud when I learned to draw something new.

I really didn’t like the drawing. I struggled for a while because even as a child I wanted my work to look perfect. in my head).

It took me a bit of guidance to realize that I can do it step by step and that simple shapes can turn into beautiful pieces.

I think the most amazing pieces come naturally, but sometimes it takes intensive drawing to master the basics. B. If you have the basics of drawing a butterfly, you can take things from there and add a personal touch. It definitely helped build my confidence in my drawing.

We are focused on making everything very easy here, and it was time for us to start painting too. So we start a new way series dedicated to drawing for kids.

How to draw a butterfly for children step by step

I’ve always loved butterflies and since bugs are a popular topic with kids, I thought this would be the perfect first object to draw.

Drawing may seem a little difficult, but if you take it step by step, you will become a master of butterfly drawing in no time!

what you need;

  • Printable template (obtained at the end of this tutorial) or paper
  • Familiar drawing tools (markers, pencils, crayons)

Optional: Painting Tools – You can add color to your drawings with colored crayons, markers, and pens.

Follow this step-by-step drawing guide.

Print butterfly drawing template with all steps and space for painting.

Stage 1

Start by drawing a circle on your head. The circle doesn’t have to be perfect.

Tip: The more circles you draw, the better they look. Practice makes the master!

Next we draw the body shape.

You can do it in one stroke or you can do two strokes starting at the top and connecting at the bottom.

Draw the first pair of wings. Make it symmetrical.

Now draw the second pair of wings. These are usually slightly smaller than the first pair, but as long as they are the same size or larger, there is no problem at all.

Now let’s draw a cute face.

Everyone loves butterflies with a smile :). I love how our cute animals stick out their tongues, so please draw them too.

Add a finishing touch and color.

Draw circles on the wings (you can draw other markers as well) and draw a few stripes on the body of the butterfly.
