How to Get a Tidal Student Discount

Stream your favorite music at a discounted price

Students do not have to pay the full price for a Tidal streaming music subscription. If you can prove that you are a current student, you can buy a student Tidal and get unlimited music for a fraction of the cost of Tidal Premium.

Most other streaming music services like Spotify and Apple Music also offer student discounts, but Tidal offers master-quality sound from Hi-Fi and online streaming services that others don’t.

Who is eligible for the Tidal student discount?

To receive student discounts through Tidal, you must attend a Title IV, degree-granting university in the United States.

Although there are many student and school classifications, the Tidal discount does not apply in all situations. Tidal uses a process similar to Spotify and works with a company called SheerID to check students for various promotions.

How to sign up for Tidal student discount

If you are eligible for the student discount as above, you can apply for the discount in a similar way to the existing music streaming service membership.

Visit login.tidal.com and start creating an account by entering your email address, Twitter account or Facebook account.

When you sign up for a new account, you can choose the type of account you want, including standard, family, student or military.

How to confirm that you are a student

After registering as a student, you will be asked to provide details and a link from Tidal to prove you are a student. This form consists of two pages and asks for some basic details that are kept private and not shared outside of the verification process.

If it’s not already there, go to the Tidal Student Discounts page and select your school from the list provided.

You must then provide documents with your first and last name, the name of your school, and a date within the last 4 months.

Examples of documents are timetables, identification, or transcripts. We can provide more than one document if required.
