Use Facebook on your Roku with screen mirroring.

One thing you can do is mirror Facebook on your phone or tablet. This isn’t necessarily the Facebook app for Roku, but the result is the same. You can browse your profile or watch Facebook Live or Facebook Watch on your TV.

For Roku to work, you need to connect your phone and Roku to the same WiFi network. Then make sure your Roku is on the home screen.

Launch the Facebook app on your mobile device and it should appear on your TV.

You still need to control Facebook from your phone, but at least you can watch live or view content on your TV screen.

If you don’t like the options available to you when mirroring your mobile device to your Roku, here are a few other options to bring Facebook Live or Facebook Watch to your TV.

  • Use Facebook with other streaming services or devices. Some services allow you to download the Facebook app or access Facebook Watch to view it on your TV. Several free streaming services and devices are available to help you find one that suits your needs.

  • If you have a smart TV, you can also access your browser on your smart TV, go to Facebook, and log in through your browser. You should be able to browse the feed as you would on any other device.

What happened to the Facebook app for Roku?

There was a time when you could download the Facebook app on your Roku device and display Facebook on your TV. Technically you cannot use Facebook or Facebook Live on your Roku as this app is no longer available and has not been replaced by anything else.
