How to Host a Facebook Watch Party

Watch Facebook videos with friends in real time.

It’s fun to watch the videos posted on Facebook, but it’s even more fun when you watch the videos in real time with your friends. You can do this with Facebook’s Watch Party feature.

How to Start a Facebook Watch Party

You can start a Facebook Watch Party using your personal profile via Facebook.com on the web or the Facebook iOS/Android mobile app. Below are instructions for both, but screenshots are for the web version only.

on Facebook.com plus sign (+) To open the Post Composer, you will see your post followed by the icon in the upper right corner.

You can also access the Post Composer from your profile page.

In the app, scroll through the options in the bottom menu to clock party.

Here’s how to add video to your viewing party:

  • video search: Search by title, genre, keyword, etc. using the search bar at the top.
  • Browse featured playlists: Choose a video by selecting an entire playlist of videos such as games, relationships, home and garden, and more.
  • Select a video you’ve already seen: Choose consider View your Facebook watch history in the horizontal menu.
  • Select current live video: Choose life View a list of currently live streaming videos in the horizontal menu.
  • Select saved videos: Choose rescue Tap in the horizontal menu to view a list of videos you previously saved to Facebook.
  • Choose one of your own videos: Choose my video To see the list of uploaded videos, in the horizontal menu

Choose all videos Add a blue checkmark to the checkbox.

It is highlighted when selecting a Facebook Watch Party video in the Facebook web interface.

Your video must be made public in order to be added to the viewing party. You can also add multiple videos to play in the order they were added.

Choose next (Facebook.com) or complete It’s in the upper-right corner (mobile app).

The selected video will be added to Post Composer. Add optional comments mailbox via video.

When you publish a Watch Party, it will start playing and a notification will be sent to your friends to join (if notifications are turned on).

Choose split See the video below to share with specific friends.

If you’re on Facebook.com, you can also invite friends using the search function on the right under Invite Others and the list of names. Online friends are listed at the top. Choose invite Next to each friend to send an invitation

Optionally, you can add videos to the Watch Party video queue while the Watch Party is hosted. Choose blue on Facebook.com Add video Press to display a screen similar to step 3.

To see how many viewers you have, look for it. people icons and numbers below the video. Viewers can leave comments and reactions to the video.

Select Add to add a co-host to your viewing party. co-host Find and select your name in the right column (Facebook.com only). Co-hosts can add more videos to pause, play, fast forward and rewind the video.

To end the clock party, choose: three points At the top right of the video on Facebook.com Complete the Watch Party followed by End Confirm.

Host a side or group Watch Party

The instructions above show you how to host a Watch Party on your Facebook profile, but you can also do it on a Page or Group. However, to do this on a page, you must be an admin or editor of that page.

Go to that page or group, find the author of the post, and start a watch party on the page or group. On one side like this location creationThe t key and the labeled field in the group. What’s wrong, name? Then just follow steps 2-10 above.

What is Facebook Watch Party?

Facebook Watch Party is a dedicated post for viewing a video or series of videos in real time.
