How to Make a Google Docs Envelope Template

Free envelope printing with extra features

Creating envelopes is not easy with Google Docs. Unlike other word processors, there are no built-in menu buttons or cover templates to instantly create pages of predefined sizes to build.

However, there is additional support. Install the Google Docs Envelope add-on to access a list of page sizes to convert your documents to in seconds. Print your own envelopes by simply editing them with your name and address.

These instructions will work for desktop sites in modern browsers like Chrome, Edge, etc.

Install the Envelope Templates add-on

When printing envelopes, the most important thing is to choose the right page size. Google has several preset sizes. page setup I’m using an extra feature to set it up, but to make it easier.

Look for addons like: Specify A* page size Supports paper size change. If you see it, select it to install followed by Continue (You may need to allow access to your Google Account.) Specify A* page size We will use it for the rest of this article.

Close the installation confirmation box and add-on window, and open the document you want to use as an envelope. It’s ok if the address has already been written. Or you can start over.

Choose one of the sizes to instantly convert your document. You need to know the envelope size so you can adjust it in millimeters.

If the envelope size you need isn’t listed, you can choose another add-on called Page Sizer that lets you set the size you want. Regarding envelope sizes, here is a list of standard envelope sizes. There is also conversion between Millimeters and Inches.

After you create an envelope-sized page, you can edit it and add addresses and names. Design fonts in the color and size you want, just like editing a regular document.

You will most likely need to double-click in the header area to write the sender’s address. that tab The keys here are your friends, so use them if you need them for sorting purposes.

If you want the return address to be closer to the left margin, you can change the margin size with: file > page setup. set left margin to 0 You can set the exact location where the address should be.

With the page properly structured and the addresses positioned correctly, you now have an envelope template. If you need to print another envelope, you can convert it to a template by editing or copying as many copies as needed.

move file > make a copy Duplicate and preserve the original. Rename it to a different name and edit it to a different address to create another envelope.
