How to Shazam a Song That’s Already on Your Phone

- Launch the Shazam app, select the song you want to identify in the Music app, then Shazam button.
- View song titles, info, and previous Shazam My Music > Shazam iOS and Shazam library on Android.
This article explains how to use Shazam to identify music playing on your mobile device instead of music from an external source.
The instructions apply to both the iOS version of Shazam and Shazam for Android.

Use Shazam to identify which song is playing on your device
If you don’t have this free app installed, first download it and run it for your operating system.
The Shazam app must be running in the background before starting to play music.
Launch the Shazam app.
Open your favorite music app, select and play an unknown track that Shazam will identify. In this example, we used RadioApp Pro, an app that streams terrestrial radio stations to the phone.
Switch back to the Shazam app and Shazam button. After a few seconds, you’ll see the song title and information about the artist.
If you have an audio file that contains multiple songs Shazam Every time a new song starts playing.
Watch and listen to Shazam
After playing an unknown song on your phone, check your Shazam history for a list of tracks identified by the app. The Shazam app stores all identified song information in your Shazam library with android my music > Shazam on iOS.
Select a track from the list of identified tracks to listen to in the Apple Music Store. You can also stream entire songs using Spotify, Deezer or YouTube Music on Android.
To stream an identified track using Spotify or Deezer, you must have the relevant app installed on your device.
Auto Shazam Settings
Open and run the Shazam app to identify songs on a case-by-case basis. Enable Auto Shazam if you want Shazam to listen in the background and decide what to listen to.
- on iOS: Choose setting Tap the icon and move the toggle to In ~ located next to it Shazam when running the app. or long press Shazam Click the icon to turn it on.
- on android: Select long Shazam Tap and tap the app icon. Auto Shazam.
Troubleshooting Tips
If you’re having trouble identifying songs, try these solutions.
- Turn up the volume on your device: If you can’t hear the microphone, you may not hear the song in Shazam.
- Using headphones: Another way to solve the Shazam no song issue is to use earphones or headphones. Once connected, hold the earbuds next to your device’s microphone and see if that solves the problem. You may have to play around with the volume to get the proper level.
