How to Turn Off Your GoPro
Turn off the device automatically or manually
Here’s how to turn off your GoPro, which is not as clear as you might think and is a different operation depending on the model. This guide applies to GoPro HERO7 Black, Silver and White, HERO6 Black, HERO 5 Black, GoPro Fusion, and GoPro HERO5 Session. If you have an older model, check their documentation.

Instructions are the same for the HERO7 series and HERO6 and HERO5.
hold down Way Press and hold for about 2 seconds.
After you hear three beeps and the red LED flashes three times, the GoPro turns off.
Or use the voice command “Turn Off GoPro”.
To set your GoPro to turn off automatically key Icon on the GoPro screen.
Choose Configuration > manual power.
Select idle time: 5 minutes, 15 minutes (usually), 30 minutesor never.
gopro fusion
The GoPro Fusion is different from other camera lines in its process.
hold down Way Press the button for 2 seconds.
The camera beeps several times and the camera status light flashes.
Fusion is turned off.
Alternatively, you can use the voice command “Turn Off GoPro”.
Fusion will automatically turn off after 7 minutes of inactivity. This setting cannot be changed.
quick capture
The Fusion GoPro has a mode called QuikCapture that only turns on the camera when taking a photo or video. You can also record time-lapse videos in this mode. With Quikcapture enabled Closure Wait for Fusion to beep a few times and the status light to flash. To record a time-lapse video, use your finger Closure Press the button until you record everything you need. Release the trigger to exit Fusion.
To turn off Quikcapture mode, connect to the GoPro app and turn it off in Settings.
gopro HERO5 session
HERO5 Session also has a QuikCapture mode like Fusion. However, in all modes, the camera turns off automatically when not recording. If connected to the GoPro app, unplug it to turn it off. The other modes are video, video + photo and looping (continuous recording).

With Quikcapture turned on, press and hold the Shutter button until the Fusion beeps a few times and the status lights blink. To record timelapse video, hold your finger on the Shutter button until you’ve captured everything you need. Once you release the shutter, the Fusion shuts down.
To turn Quikcapture mode off, connect it to the GoPro app and disable it in the settings.
GoPro HERO5 Session
The HERO5 Session also has QuikCapture mode, like the Fusion. However, in all modes, the camera shuts off when it’s not recording. If you have it connected to the GoPro app, disconnect it to power it off. Its other modes are Video, Video + Photo, and Looping (continuous recording).
