Create, find, and contribute Pins to shared boards

One of the best ways to discover great content on the web is through Pinterest. In addition to following user profiles and boards on the platform, you can follow and join Pinterest group boards where multiple users provide content.

Standard boards and group boards on Pinterest

If you create a new board on Pinterest, you can pin it. Pins you add to the board are visible to everyone (unless you designate it as a secret board), but no one else can add Pins.

When you invite one or more other Pinterest users to collaborate on a board and accept the invitation, you automatically become a group board. Uninvited users can request to join a group board, which can be approved or rejected by the board owner.

Group board contributors can view group boards alongside other boards in their profile. As with standard boards, you can pin whatever you want whenever you want.

However, contributors are limited in what they can edit on the group bulletin board. You can drag and drop group boards to reorganize your profile. However, they cannot change the name, description, category, cover pin, or visibility of group boards to which they have contributed.

Only group board owners can change information and settings. Group board owners also have control over inviting users, accepting or rejecting join requests, and deleting group boards.

How to find group boards on Pinterest

Pinterest doesn’t have a dedicated section or search filter for group boards, so it’s hard to find.

Here are some ideas for finding group boards quickly and easily.

  • Use pin group: PinGroupie is an unofficial search engine for Pinterest group bulletin boards. Enter a search term in the box above to see a list of group bulletin board results with details, stats and how to join.
  • Search “group bulletin board” on Pinterest.: Many Pinterest users pin blog posts to compile group board lists. Search for the term “group board” in the Pinterest search box and see what comes up.
  • Find group boards in your Pinterest user profile.: One of the easiest and best ways to find group boards is by browsing other Pinterest users’ boards. To identify group boards that users are contributing to, look for a circular icon with two or more user profile pictures directly above the board name.

Most group bulletin board owners don’t put this button on their bulletin board pages to avoid a huge number of requests (and potential spammers). If you see it there, select it to request to join the group board.

You will only be notified if the group bulletin board owner approves the request.

To request to join a group board that does not have a request button:

  • Please read the group bulletin description for instructions on how to submit a request.: Many group board owners accepting new contributors require that you follow the board, contact the owner (via the email address provided), or follow a link to fill out a contact form.
  • Reach out to group board owners via private Pinterest messages: You can identify the group board owner by looking at the group board URL (http://pinterest.com/username/group-board-name) with the owner’s username in front of the group board name. Go to the group board owner profile and select News Join the group board by sending the private message above and explain why you can be a great contributor.

To leave the group bulletin board after being approved as a contributor, go to the group bulletin board and member profile picture balloon. A list of members is displayed in a drop-down list. Find and choose your name leave.

How to pin to a Pinterest group board

Once you’ve been approved as a contributor to a group board, you can pin them on Pinterest.com and the Pinterest mobile app, just like you pin to a board.

Creating a Pinterest group board is as easy as inviting someone.

On Pinterest.com, select your name at the top, then profile > stage. in the Pinterest app plus signthen tap plank.

Enter your board name in the field provided on Pinterest.com, then create. You will be redirected to the bulletin board page.

Enter the board name in the field provided by the app and then when you know who to invite add user Add an icon under the collaborators section.

In the app, tap the name of the person you want to invite, then complete.
