How to Whitelist Email Addresses
Whitelisting prevents spam filters from misdirecting emails.
The best way to ensure that the emails you want to see don’t end up in your spam folder is to create a list of email addresses of people you know. This is commonly referred to as a whitelist, but the modern term is a whitelist.
The process for listing a safe list is slightly different for each email service.

Gmail whitelist procedure
Gmail doesn’t have a quick checkbox to add the sender email to your real friends list you want to exclude from the spam box. However, there are several effective ways to whitelist your friends in Gmail.
Add Email Address to Contacts
Open your contact list in Gmail. The fastest way is to go to the Google Contacts link.
Select Google Contacts on the page. Create a contact and fill it Create a new contact form. Google sends all emails from your contact list straight to your inbox.
Add spam to the safe list
Sometimes a friend sends you an email from your spam folder before adding your email address to your safelist. There is a quick way to fix this.
