HP Reveals New Workstation Laptops and Displays
The Z24q monitor is expected to launch in May.
HP has unveiled a new addition to its Z line workstations: the ZBook Studio G9 and Fury G9 notebooks, as well as the Z24m and Z24q monitors.
The two ZBook entries are similar in form and function, but the Fury G9 is the more powerful of the two as it has a better processor. The same goes for the Z24m and Z24q. Both are monitors with similar performance, but the former has a tilting 5MP webcam and noise-cancelling microphone.
HP
HP calls the Fury G9’s processor a “desktop-class Intel 55-Watt CPU” and is likely referring to the recently announced Intel Core i9-12950HX, as it has 55W of power. Beyond that, depending on the model, it comes with an NVIDIA RTX A5500 or AMD Radeon Pro GPU to enable 8K video editing.
The Studio G9 with Intel Core i9 vPro CPU is a bit weak. You can choose between the powerful graphics cards, the RTX A5500 GPU or the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. Both have access to NVIDIA Studio software, including Omniverse, Broadcast, and Canvas.
In addition to the webcam, the Z24m also features HP’s self-locking and waking features, a proximity sensor that protects your privacy. That said, both monitors are quad HD displays with a 90Hz refresh rate and also feature a VESA display HDR 400 for better color fidelity.
HP
The Z24q will be available in May, with a starting price of $374. Pricing for the Z24m has not been announced, but it is expected to launch in July.
Both laptops are in a similar situation. There is no official price, and it is expected to launch in June of this year. Pricing will be announced as the release date approaches.
