Lexus Launches Its First Global Battery-Powered EV, The RZ

In terms of technology, the Lexus RZ features a 14-inch touchscreen with a Lexus interface infotainment system previously seen on NX and LX SUVs. It also has a panoramic sunroof that extends from the front seats to the rear seats. Safety features include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and automatic emergency braking. Buyers can also opt for the Driver Monitor package that comes with a pre-collision system. This package automatically brings the vehicle to a standstill if it detects that the driver is distracted or unable to continue.

A notable new feature of the RZ is its steer-by-wire technology, which will be available immediately in the global market, but will also be available in the US. “later.” The system has no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and tires in normal operation and includes a yoke-style steering wheel found in newer Tesla Model S units.
