Netflix released a teaser trailer for the final season today that promises an epic conclusion to the series. The trailer offers glimpses at some important developments, like the use of the Timeshift key, which, once turned in the home’s grandfather clock, allows the user to view the past. The teaser also shows the rise of the demonic Echo of Captain Gideon, hints at the return of Tyler, and shows the return of the seemingly undefeatable Dodge. The teaser can be seen below:

First established in flashbacks, the Revolutionary War Captain Gideon is an invention of the show, and was the first person to open the Black Door, which freely lets demons enter the human world, leading to his possession. Now free again, Gideon’s Big Bad looks to bring one last fight to the door of the Locke family for the final fantastical season of Locke & Key.
