Margot Robbie’s Barbie movie gets official first look and release date
Barbie will officially be on the big screen next summer. The upcoming live-action film now has a July 21, 2023 release date (same day as Christopher Nolan’s next film, Oppenheimer, if you want a double bill).
The release date was announced by Warner Bros. at CinemaCon, and the studio also revealed the first official appearance of the film, with Ryan Gosling playing her Beau Ken and Margot Robbie playing the title character. The first look photo shows Robbie in a blue getup smiling from the driver’s seat of Barbie’s classic pink convertible.

The film’s supporting cast includes Will Ferrell, who serves as the CEO of a toy company (which may or may not be Barbie maker Mattel), along with Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Michael Cera, Issa Rae and Emma Mackey.
