Marvel Snap Is A New Online Card Game From Former Hearthstone Director

Marvel Snap was designed to be played at a much faster pace than other CCGs on the market now, as the turn-based system has been removed entirely to keep games shorter and more action-packed. Brode also noted that the number of cards in a player’s deck has been significantly reduced in order to make deck-building much simpler, while still encouraging strategic thinking. Marvel Snap is planned to launch with over 150 cards, all with unique stats and striking art. After launch, Second Dinner plans to update the game regularly by adding new cards, locations, cosmetics, season passes, ranked seasons, challenges, missions, and events. Although the game will integrate microtransactions, senior director of production Julia Humphreys assured players that every card can be obtained without spending any money.

Marvel Snap’s first closed beta will be available on Android devices (with signups starting today). Despite being developed as a “mobile-first game,” Humphreys mentioned that an early-access version of Marvel Snap will also be released for PC sometime in the future, likely around Marvel Snap‘s official mobile release. Card game fans will have to wait and see what the future has in store for this new title.
