Of course, in the endless world of superhero comics, rarely ever really ends, but pretending it’s over is half the fun. “It’s crazy if you ask me,” Slott raved. “Why do they have to do this? Why? You’ve been able to milk these spider cash cows for decades. That said, if you’re going to do it, committing to the glamor of fame is definitely the way to go!”

A character design document for Night-Spider, a woman with a black and white spider-themed catsuit, domino mask, and long white hair tied in a ponytail.

Slott says Night-Spider takes the role of Felicia Hardy, a world-class thief from outer space with the powers of a spider, wearing a costume designed by Kris Anka and having the powers of a spider, Felicia Hardy.

This is the character design of Hunter-Spider, the heroic version of Craven Hunter with spider power. He's a man with a mustache wearing the pants and gloves of a Spider-Man outfit, and a revealing vest full of giant spiders. Under the vest he has no shirt. A cobweb forms a lion-shaped mane over his shoulders.

Black and white character design passport of a bearded and dignified Spider-Laird wearing a kilt and a spiderweb inlaid mask and holding a cutlass on his belt.

According to Slott, the Mark Bagley-designed Hunter-Spider comes from Earth, where Sergei Kravenoff obtained spider powers “in the most unusual way”. “I don’t want to say more than that, writing the heroic ‘Craven Spider’ is so much fun.”

And Slott proudly states that Spider-Laird, created in collaboration with artist Martin Coccolo, is “the first kilted hero in the Spider-verse.” According to Slott, these new outfits “give cosplayers more movement and the ability to let the knees breathe.”
