Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Is Also Coming To PC This Year
Insomniac Games’ 2020 superhero hit Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is set to come to PC for the first time later this year, as confirmed by PlayStation. The announcement follows the reveal of a PC release for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered at PlayStation’s June 2 State of Play showcase.
The Marvel’s Spider-Man titles are the latest PlayStation exclusives to be getting PC releases, following previous titles such as God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Days Gone. The move is in line with a statement made by Sony Interactive Entertainment president Jim Ryan at a Sony investor meeting last month, in which he revealed PlayStation aims to release half of its games on PC and mobile devices by 2025. This is down to the studio feeling that it had been restricting itself to a narrow portion of the gaming market in the past by only allowing its first-party titles on PlayStation devices.

Whereas Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered had a trailer from Marvel Entertainment during State of Play to announce its arrival on PC in August, the news of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales‘ PC port came in an official PlayStation Blog post. Spider-Man: Miles Morales was a launch title for PS5 back in 2020 and was praised for showcasing the potential shown in Sony’s latest hardware. The post hasn’t given a solid release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PC, but has given a release window of fall 2022, alongside the promise of further updates on its PC improvements.
The post also went on to celebrate how successful the Marvel’s Spider-Man series has been on PlayStation to date, with over 33 million copies sold globally as of May 15, 2022. Given its popularity, many are eagerly awaiting the next entry in the franchise, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is due for a 2023 release only on PS5. The first trailer for the sequel has already confirmed the arrival of fan-favorite villain Venom, who had been teased in Marvel’s Spider-Man and in a post-credits scene for Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Many fans are hoping for more news as to how developer Insomniac approaches the symbiote saga in its universe.
Given how beloved of a character Spider-Man is, and how disappointed many fans were at the PlayStation exclusivity when the title was announced, the Marvel’s Spider-Man series’ arrival on PC is a huge win for Marvel fans who don’t own a Sony console but want to experience Insomniac’s acclaimed take on the characters for themselves. The PC releases also open doors for the Spider-Man modding community to expand upon the already vast variety of in-game suits and create their own favorite costumes. With both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales coming to PC in 2022, fans don’t have long to wait.
