Christmas is the most magical time of the year and the perfect time to create magical memories. It’s time to create memories that the whole family will enjoy and cherish these Christmas photo souvenirs for years to come. You can print one (or all) of our designs, take a picture of your child, and together transform them into a festive fairy, happy reindeer or Santa Claus.

How to make a mobile paper doll for Christmas photos?

What you need:

  • one or more doll models
  • scissors
  • Split pin/paper tie or glue (you can buy a paper tie at most offices and craft stores)
  • glue
  • Art supplies for black and white printing
  • child’s headshot

step-by-step instructions

Start printing the model sheet. There are 3 festive characters to choose from, all available in two sizes: black and white and color. So, choose the one (or all) that best suits your needs.

Once the paper doll is complete (or laminating the parts to make the doll into a pose), plain paper won’t work well here unless you plan to laminate the paper doll.

Start by cutting out all the pieces from the template. Santa and the elves are pretty easy, while the reindeer (albeit very cute) are the hardest to cut. So, if you work with young children, you will probably have to help them. Ideal for memory sessions between parents and children.

Once all the pieces are cut, you can move on to the next step.

Assemble the Christmas Paper Dolls

All dolls are fitted in the same way because the reindeer have the most “additional parts”.

When making the tailstock, you must first drill holes in the arms, legs and body (via the small points provided).

Older children can use split pins to make holes, for younger children an easy-to-use tool such as a skewer (under adult supervision) is recommended. If you have a large cotter pin, a single hole punch may suffice.

You can also omit the cotter pins entirely and attach the arms and legs to the body.

Requires 4 cotter pins per doll. Slide the first split pin through one of the holes in the body.

Turn the doll over and insert the split pins into the holes in the corresponding body part (arm or leg).

Unfold and secure the cotter pins.

Do the same for the other three body parts.

Apply glue between the photos or the dotted lines and stick the photos to the body.

For Santa Claus, we attach Santa’s head and beard to the photo.

Glue the hat to the Elf’s photo.

And put a red nose in the reindeer’s nose…

And horns with ears on their heads.

Perfect.

Christmas is the most magical time of the year, and it’s the perfect time to create magical memories. It’s time to create memories the whole family will enjoy, and this Christmas photo keepsake is one that will be treasured for a long time. How to Make a Christmas Photo Craft Mobile Paper Doll

What do you need:
one or more of our doll models
the scissors
cotter pins / paper ties or glue (you can get paper ties at most office and craft stores)
glue
coloring supplies if you print the black and white version
head shot of your child
Step by step tutorial
Start by printing the model sheet. We have 3 festive characters to choose from and all are available in black and white and color, plus two sizes. So choose the one (or all) that best suits your needs.
Plain paper doesn’t work well for this one, unless you plan to laminate the paper doll once it’s done (or laminate pieces if you’re making the doll movable).

Start by cutting out all the pieces from the template. While Santa and the elf are fairly easy, the reindeer (although super cute) is the hardest to cut, so if you’re working with younger kids you’ll probably have to help them out. Ideal for a memory-making session between parents and children.

When all the pieces are cut, we can move on to the next step.

Assemble the Christmas Paper Doll
All dolls fit together the same way, with the reindeer having the most “extra pieces”.
If you’re making the tailstock, the first thing to do is to drill holes on the arms, legs, and body (through the small designated spots).
Older children can use cotter pins to make the holes, while for younger children we recommend an easier-to-use tool such as a skewer (with adult supervision). If you have large cotter pins, a single-hole punch may also do the trick.
You can also skip the cotter pins altogether and just glue the arms and legs to the body.

You will need 4 split pins per doll. Push the first cotter pin through one of the holes on the body.

Turn the doll over and push the cotter pin through the hole in the relevant body part (arm or leg).

Spread the cotter pin to secure it.

Do the same with the other 3 body parts.

Apply glue to the photo or to the area between the dotted lines and glue the photo to the body.

For Santa Claus, paste the head and possibly the beard of Santa Claus on the photo.
For Elf, stick the hat on the photo.
And for the reindeer, stick the red nose on the nose…

And antlers with ears on their heads.

Finished.
