This portrait will help you turn your home into a spooky mansion. Hang them on the wall and watch the snow follow you wherever you go. This is the really tricky magic of Halloween.

How to Create a Halloween Craft Moving Eye Portrait

What you need:

  • Model
  • paper
  • scissors
  • glue
  • Optional coloring accessories

Print the model. For portraits, you need a box model.

…and Halloween monster portraits.

If your child is making black and white portraits, have them color them before assembling the craft.

Cut out the monster image (cut along the outer line).

Cut out the circles for the eyes. Drill a small hole in the center of each circle and pull it out with scissors.

Cut out cardboard template.

Also cut out the two circles marked on the template as in the monster picture.

Fold along the black dotted line.

The pretty, neat folds make it easier to assemble the box.

Assemble the box. The two black dots should be inside the box.

Apply glue to the area marked with the word glue.

Assemble the box.

Wait for the glue to harden before proceeding to the final stage of this project.

The last thing to do is attach the monster portrait to the box.

Apply glue to the back of the portrait (or the top of the box).

Glue the portrait to the box, making sure the hole in the box and the portrait line up.

Perfect! You have completed a moving eye portrait for Halloween. Watch your eyes move from left to right, up and down.
