Nintendo delays the Super Mario movie to 2023

Nintendo’s animated film based on Super Mario Bros. doesn’t specify a previously announced 2022 release date. Nintendo and Illumination are now saying that the Mario movie will be released next spring instead.

Mario creator and game designer Shigeru Miyamoto personally announced on twitter, through your Nintendo of America account. Miyamoto said he’s decided to play the Mario movie with the film’s co-producer and Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri.

“After discussing the Super Mario Bros. film with Illumination partner Chris, we have decided to postpone the global release to April 28 in Japan and April 7 in North America,” said Miyamoto. “I deeply apologize, but I promise it will be worth the wait.”

The Super Mario Bros movie was scheduled for release on December 21st. The new April 2023 release is another highly anticipated film directed by James Cameron. Avatar 2It will be released on December 16th. Mario fans craving cinematic Super Mario Bros content should connect with traditional live action. Super Mario Brothers.
