According to a description of the remaster by Femboy Films, the team behind the project, the scans come from: Super Mario Bros – Grand Mission to Save Princess Peach Derived from “a 16mm miniature print that was previously believed to have been used for small regional screenings”, it is believed to be “one of the surviving prints in the world, if not the only one”.
The new remaster also features an all-new audio recording using the original VHS as a source. As Femboy Films says, “VHS was originally released as two-channel Dolby Surround, and it stays there in audio recordings.” “This is the closest representation of how the movie would have sounded in theaters since it was released in 4-channel Dolby stereo.” New English subtitles with translations of anime music are also available.
