Obi-Wan Secretly Made An EU Jedi Canon (& There’s A Rogue Squadron Link)

Corran Horn is one of the most important Jedi in the Expanded Universe, second only to Luke Skywalker’s wife Mara Jade. In Legends, Corran grew up on Corellia and became an officer in the Corellian Security Force. He fled Corellia after clashing with the Imperial Intelligence agent Kirtan Loor, and joined the nascent New Republic shortly after the Battle of Endor. Corran was an ace pilot, becoming one of the best pilots in the celebrated Rogue Squadron, playing a key role in the capture of Coruscant. Circumstances forced Corran to acknowledge his nascent Jedi talents, and he trained at Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Academy – becoming a key figure in the Jedi Order.

All this means the introduction of Corran should be seen as far more than just another Easter egg. Lucasfilm is working on a Rogue Squadron movie, potentially drawing upon the popular books by Michael Stackpole and the late Aaron Allston; Corran was at the heart of these stories, and it would make sense for Lucasfilm to use the character in the film as well. This particular Obi-Wan Kenobi cameo should be seen as a potential sign of things to come – and an indication the Rogue Squadron film could be everything lovers of the novels hope for.
