Unsurprisingly, his view on Reigns against Rhodes is spot on. What Cody left and managed to do with AEW is what allows him to feel as “big” as Roman Reigns. While one of them had the WWE machine behind them the whole way, Rhodes Cody Rhodes had to go out and blaze his own trail. Only once he returned more than half a decade later did he begin to get the respect that he maybe deserved the entire time.
Dusty Rhodes never won the WWE Championship, and Cody is on the record saying that winning the title is why he came back to the company in the first place.
