PlayStation DualSense Controllers Can Now Be Updated On PC Without A PS5
This update removes the minor annoyance of having to deal with the PS5’s update screen. When the player boots the console with the unupdated DualSense’s power button, they must go through a prompt screen before going to the user menu or home screen. PS5 additional updates can be delayed 24 hours, but players will continue to see this screen until they do a firmware update. Those who stash their PS5 in their entertainment centers will no longer have to fiddle with the system when a controller update is released.
Like the Xbox Series X/S controllers, DualSense is an excellent choice for playing games on your PC. Unique DualSense features such as haptic feedback and adaptive controllers are also available for compatible games in the Steam client. When the PlayStation Plus maintenance begins in June, the PlayStation Now PC app will be updated for wireless DualSense support. Sony has been talking about future support for the PC platform, along with future legacy PS4 and PS5 exclusives. So it’s a good sign that DualSense has a PC-only app. playstation 5.
