Pokémon GO’s Alolan Geodude Community Day Inspires Adorable Chocolates
A Pokémon GO fan has just cooked up some cute and delicious chocolate treats in honor of this weekend’s Alolan Geodude Community Day event. There have been several special Pokémon GO events that put the spotlight on the creatures of Generation Seven’s Alola region, with last month’s Pokémon GO “Season Of Alola” event adding in several new Raid Pokémon, Shiny Variants, and evolutionary stages from 2016’s Pokémon Sun and Moon.
While fans were introduced to Geodude during the original Pokémon Red and Blue, Generation Seven added a new Alolan variant that can use Electrical attacks on top of the regular Geodude’s Rock/Ground abilities. This unique version of Geodude was recently honored during yesterday’s Pokémon GO Community Day event, which gave players who logged in at a certain time an increased chance of catching a Shiny Alolan Geodude and evolving an Alolan Golem with the Fast Attack Rollout. Players could also unlock special Pokémon GO Research Tasks that award bonus upon completion – including candy that can be used to boost Alolan Geodude’s stats and experience level.

Speaking of candy, a Twitter user by the handle of Miscellaneousmao recently posted a picture of their custom-made Alolan Geodude chocolate treats, which they cooked up in honor of yesterday’s Pokémon GO Alolan Geodude Community Day event. These Rocky Road-flavored treats are modeled after Alolan Geodude in both its traditional grey and orange Shiny variants, with a tasty-looking fudge filling on the inside that Miscellaneousmao says is made from chocolate ganache, almonds, and marshmallows. Many Twitter users have commented on how cute and delicious Miscellaneousmao’s candies look, with some even asking for the recipe so that they could make and enjoy their own.

Geodude won’t be the last Alolan Pokémon to be featured in an upcoming Pokémon GO event, as developer Niantic recently announced the Pokémon GO “Alola to Alola” weeklong showcase that will give players one last chance to catch any previously available Shiny variants – including the Shiny Alolan Geodude from yesterday’s Community Day. Pokémon GO recently made a few changes to how Community Day events are handled, including a return to the older three-hour time window that proved divisive among players who grew used to the more flexible six-hour event periods of later years. This backlash hasn’t stopped some Pokémon GO fans from looking forward to the upcoming Pokémon GO Fest 2022, which will take place as a series of global and in-person events starting in June.
Meanwhile, this weekend’s Pokémon GO Alolan Geodude Community Day event has inspired fans all around the world to track down the cute rocky creature on their mobile devices – and even to make a few candy treats in its likeness. Miscellaneousmao’s Geodude-inspired chocolate candies are spot on in their depiction of Alolan Geodude in both its forms, with plenty of variety thanks to the unique facial expressions they gave each one. These tasty-looking treats could make for a nice snack during rounds of Pokémon GO – or even the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet when it finally launches on the Nintendo Switch sometime later this year.
