Pokémon TCG – All Radiant Pokémon Cards In Astral Radiance

The first Radiant Pokémon in Astral Radiance is the Radiant Heatran TCG card. For three Fire Energy, Radiant Heatran can dish out 70 damage for each damage counter it has. A healthy Heatran won’t leave a scratch, but can potentially cap out at 1,050 damage. Getting to that point isn’t very feasible – it’s more likely to be knocked out long before then – but with only 40 damage taken, Radiant Heatran will swing for 280 before applying Weakness or Resistance. This is enough to take care of Pokémon V and VSTAR, while one more damage counter on Heatran helps it handle Pokémon VMAX cards.

Pokémon TCG Astral Radiance Radiant Pokémon: Radiant Greninja

Radiant Greninja has the Concealed Cards Ability, which is similar to Zoroark-GX’s Trade Ability and the Make Do Ability from the Sword & Shield set’s Cinccino. These Abilities have found themselves at the center of competitive decks throughout The Pokémon TCG’s history, since drawing two cards for the price of discarding any one of the player’s choice is innately strong. Radiant Greninja requires the player to discard an Energy card rather than any card, but this comes with the trade-off that Radiant Greninja is a Basic Pokémon that can be played onto the field right away, unlike Zoroark-GX and Cinccino who must be evolved first. Radiant Greninja will likely be a great card to splash into any deck that utilizes Energy in the discard pile, since Radiant Greninja doesn’t need to do any attacking itself. Darkness decks, which are receiving support in Astral Radiance with Darkrai VSTAR and the return of Dark Patch, will especially enjoy Radiant Greninja’s company.

Pokémon TCG Astral Radiance Radiant Pokémon: Radiant Hawlucha

The final Radiant Pokémon in Astral Radiance is Radiant Hawlucha. This card’s Big Match Ability gives the player’s Active Pokémon an extra 30 damage against opposing Active Pokémon VMAX before calculating Weakness and Resistance as long as Radiant Hawlucha is on the Bench. This makes Radiant Hawlucha a good support Pokémon, but as the Pokémon TCG slowly adds more powerful Pokémon VSTAR into the Pokémon V mix, Radiant Hawlucha’s Ability will become more and more situational. Players will have to watch out that Pokémon such as Radiant Greninja don’t knock out Radiant Hawlucha from off the Bench while they’re chipping away at Pokémon VMAX.
