Let’s gather the tools and get started.

How to Make DIY Clip Bookmarks

What you need:

  • Our Printable Templates (obtained at the end of the tutorial) Animal Bookmarks
  • 10 large clips in different colors (I used 5 cm clips for this project)
  • colored pencils or colored pencils
  • white cardboard
  • Hot glue gun (low temperature baby glue gun) – Always use glue gun and scissors under adult supervision.

Print the animals on a white card and cut out the animals as shown in the photo.

Stage 1

Try using colored pencils…

Step 2

…and paint all the animals. Crayons or markers also work well.

If you have a group of young children working on this project, it’s a good idea to color the drawings before you cut them out.

Step 2-1

Apply glue to the top of each clip and place the animal on top of it.

Step 3

Turn the paper animal over and seal it with glue on the back side.

Wait for the glue to dry.

Now, somewhere in your house you probably have your favorite picture book.

Attach the paper animal clips you made today to the pages or covers of your book.
