Rocket League rivals could come from 2K Games if you can believe the new report.
The report comes from Exputer, who claims that the publisher is developing a new game specifically to appeal to a Rocket League audience. Obviously called “Gravity Goal”, the game sees players riding a futuristic motorcycle called “TRON-like” and hitting the ball into the opponent’s goal.
This is a slight variation on the Rocket League formula that we’ve seen players use cars for to chase opponents through the arena for years. Like Rocket League, Gravity Goal is known to have 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 modes, but players’ bikes will certainly be able to throw spinning disks at each other to do damage.
Current reports claim that there is no definitive release date for the Gravity Goal. However, the outlet claims that 2K is likely to be unveiled relatively soon, as 2K put the new company in alpha late last year. However, when released, it will appear on the PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
For Rocket League, developer Psyonix’s hit sensation has continued with new updates in recent years. Most recently, they added James Bond’s Aston Martin to the car roster late last year and introduced a new season featuring Grimes’ music earlier this year. There is no indication that Psyonix has finished updating the game. This means the Rocket League and Gravity Goal can compete directly.
