Rockstar Games illustrators have gone to great lengths to combine retro comic style art with great modern games.
As first reported by Eurogamer, Mark Scicluna has a fairly impressive art portfolio. The Edinburgh-based Rockstar Games illustrator now offers contemporary games in comic book cover style, featuring Last of Us, God of War, Resident Evil Village and other hits from the selection, as seen below.

It’s a fantastic combination of modern gaming and evocative soft illustrations that take you back in time, similar to what you’d find in your local bookstore. My personal favorite should be the Naughty Dog’s Last of Us 2 version right below. Because we can see Abby face the truly terrifying Rat King in an epic showdown.

If you really like one of the pieces on Scicluna’s portfolio website, you can actually purchase it through the artist’s Redbubble website. What Scicluna recreates on the store front is not only comic book covers, but also an assortment of similarly styled t-shirts, badges, stickers and other items.
Blimey, you have so many raw talents. It’s a sight to behold when someone inevitably gets their hands on one of Scicluna’s comic book creations and trades them for regular video game box art.
