Salt and Sacrifice: How To Play Co-Op
Much like the equipment crafting and enhancement in Salt and Sacrifice, the game doesn’t go over how players can set up either online or three-player co-op. To play online with a friend, players will need to visit the cooperation board in the Pardoner’s Vale and select the option to either host or join a co-op session. The second player will need to select whichever option the first doesn’t choose. While hosting a session, players can create a password with the board’s runes to ensure that no unwanted strangers enter the lobby.
To join random partners, players will need to first find the Pale Candle in the Ashbourne Village, which isn’t an item that needs to be leveled up in Salt and Sacrifice. Once players can pass through the gate to the right of the initial spawn location they’ll need to drop down through the scaffolding to reach the door at the bottom-left corner. Continue head down to the first exit on the left to reach Greymoss Mire, then use the grappling hook to reach an NPC. She’ll return the Pardoner’s Vale, allowing players to purchase Pale Candles from her inventory.
To host a random partner, players will need to remove the Spellmark and obtain the Golden Candle. The Spellmark can be removed with a Guiltless Shard, which can easily be obtained after any enemies summoned by Mages are defeated by the Marked Inquisitor in Salt and Sacrifice. The Golden Candle is found in Ashbourne Village as well by heading to the first cave left of the spawn, then exiting the Root-Ceil Cavern through the middle of the right side where a chest can be found with the item.
Salt and Sacrifice is available on the PS4, PS5, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
