Scarlet Witch’s Hellfire Gala Costume Gets Spotlighted in New Marvel Art

Warning! Potential spoilers for X-Men’s Hellfire Gala event below

In new magazine-style cover art for the X-Men’s upcoming 2022 Hellfire Gala event, Scarlet Witch and her new costume take center stage in a gorgeous image giving the magical hero the spotlight. On his Twitter account, artist David Nakayama shared his newest Marvel Comics art, which features Wanda Maximoff striking a pose for the cameras for the Hellfire magazine.

David Nakayama has designed some of the most creative Hellfire Gala covers since the inaugural event in 2021, with his magazine-styled variants being one of the most stunning ways to capture the high-fashion looks. The Marvel Comics variants are like the X-Men’s version of Vogue, as it gave several heroes and their Hellfire Gala costumes the perfect spotlight. In 2021, Nakayama designed variants for Unknown Comics, including a gorgeous Rogue-starring cover – which received a perfect follow-up in 2021, with Gambit’s look being featured in Hellfire magazine. Now, Scarlet Witch gets the same treatment.

On his Twitter account, artist David Nakayama shared his latest magazine style orderable through the Unknown Comics app. The cover features Russell Dauterman’s magical design for Wanda Maximoff, which features her jewel-increased headpiece, a two-piece bodysuit, with a stunning ombre effect on her skirt and hair. The starry effect looks just as good on Nakayama’s Hellfire Gala magazine cover as the text draws readers in with the great line, “she’ll cast a spell on you.” Additionally, the red and black costume on the red cover makes the hero stand out, as there’s little doubt Wanda is worthy of starring on the front cover of the hypothetical Hellfire magazine.

Here’s an unlettered look at the cover!

Nakayama’s Scarlet Witch magazine cover is the latest among a great series of X-Men Hellfire Gala official and unofficial cover art teasing an incredible event in 2022. From Dauterman’s striking Wolverine Hellfire Gala cover to Nick Dragotta and Rico Renzi’s variant cover art featuring Jean Grey and Logan, to Mark Brooks’ excellent crashing fan art series where heroes not invited to the Hellfire Gala crash the party in style, there’s so much great pieces out there for readers to enjoy.

This year’s Hellfire Gala event will be a lot less dramatic for Scarlet Witch, as she took the spotlight at the 2021 event for incredibly dark reasons. So hopefully, this time around, she gets to relax, enjoy a night of high fashion, and most importantly, stay out of trouble. Readers can order the Scarlet Witch magazine variant cover for X-Men: Hellfire Gala #1 by Marvel Comics on Unknown Comics starting on Monday.
