Scream 6 Has The Most Violent Ghostface Yet, Says Star

Production on Scream 6 is set to officially kick off this month, with recent news confirming the exciting return of fan-favorite Scream 4 character, Kirby Reed, played by Hayden Panettiere. Cox will also reprise her role as Gale Weathers, although her survival within the bounds of Scream 6 is by no means guaranteed after Scream saw Arquette’s character Dewey Riley meet a grisly end in a brave moment of self-sacrifice. Many are hoping to also see Campbell’s return as the series’ original final girl Sidney Prescott. However, her involvement with Scream 6 is currently unconfirmed.
Given that the previous Scream films have built their reputation on being the gore-filled meta commentaries that they are, it’s interesting to hear that Scream 6 could be about to step it up a notch. The most recent film’s opening sequence saw Ortega’s character come face-to-face with the Ghostface killer and survive; however, with the Scream franchise now looking to raise the stakes higher than ever, it remains to be seen what lies ahead for Tara and whether she will live to see another sequel. For now, it might be time to revise the rules of survival as Scream 6 will officially hit theatres on March 31, 2023.
