Sennheiser Announces New Sport True Wireless Earbuds for Athletes

There is no noise cancellation, but it can block out unwanted noise.

Sennheiser has unveiled new SPORT True Wireless earphones aimed at athletes and offering impressive sound control.

Instead of noise canceling, the SPORT True Wireless earphones feature dual equalization (EQ), which in certain configurations can block out body sounds like heartbeats and footsteps, says Sennheiser. Other notable features include a 9-hour battery life, IP54 rating, and audio codec support.

The two main features are Adaptable Acoustic and EQ settings. The former lets you choose an open or closed ear adapter to control the amount of ambient noise that comes in. When closed, you can turn on the Focus EQ setting to completely cut out external noise.

If you have an open ear adapter, you can adjust your Aware EQ settings to block out body sounds like your own breathing. This allows runners to be more aware of their surroundings without being distracted by these sounds.

The earphones are powered by a 7mm dynamic driver that outputs full bass sound without distortion. The IP54-rated earbuds are dust- and water-resistant, so you can run in the rain. And a pair of sports touch controls lets you customize the sound to your liking without taking out your phone.
